Shenandoah Valley Golf Club

Shenandoah Valley Golf Club Terrace

Treat your wedding guests to the elegance of our full service Conference and Banquet Center. Three expansive window-paneled walls surround a versatile great room, overlooking the golf course and revealing a grand panorama of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Relax while you enjoy a private gourmet dinner and toast your guests at a reception for up to 400 people. Whatever the size of your guest list, our chef will provide just the right touch to each and every selection, from steaks to seafood and everything in between. After the meal, linger with your guests on the wrap-around terrace and take in the miles of quiet hillsides before you. Regardless of the size or style of your reception, we have something here for you. Give us a call and we’ll help you plan the details. Or, better yet, come and visit Shenandoah Valley Golf Club and see for yourself all that we have to offer.

Fairview House Accommodations
Bed and Breakfast accommodations are offered in our historic Fairview House c.1785 located on the grounds across from the clubhouse. This beautiful three level restoration features 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 6 fireplaces, 2 parlors, a large dining room, 2 balconies and lower level "public room" with small kitchen. Exquisite 18th c. period reproduction furniture manufactured locally by the Henkel-Harris Company in Winchester, Virginia is showcased in the house.

1. What are the current trends?
The current trends are starting to be less about chocolate fountains, champagne pyramids, and martini luge’s and more about the personalization of the event. Create a personalized theme by utilizing family photos scattered around the ballroom or in a central location, or create a slideshow to be featured during your cocktail hour. Some clients like to name the tables after favorite sports teams, vineyards and wineries, or special places they have visited together. Think of the things that define the bride and groom and share those things with your guests. It creates a memorable experience for the happy couple as well as their family and friends.

2. What is a facility fee for and what does it cover?
Facility Fees are intended to cover the standard overhead for the event and each venue may express this expense differently. The fee offsets the cost of china, silverware, glassware, set-up, breakdown, linens, napkins, natural breakage, on site coordination, cake cutting etc. Be sure to ask what the fee includes as you visit each site as it will vary from location to location.

3.   How much does it come down to the price versus what they are seeing as the perfect location for their weddings?
Although price does matter, it is important to balance the vision with the price. It’s your special day and too many shortcuts and price cuts may compromise your event. The best way to get what you want is to build your dream reception, allow the sales team to bid out the components and then shave expense in areas that are less important to you. Most often, in event sales, you get what you pay for.

4. What differentiates Shenandoah Valley Golf Club from other venues?
Aside from the fact that the food and service are top notch, the elegance of the ballroom, the ability and accessibility of the planning team, and the sheer beauty of the location all play into the preference that has many in the Shenandoah Valley referring friends, clients, and relatives to host events with us. I think that the differences lie in the details. Basically, all venues perform the “function” aspects of a reception. The ones that you want to do business with are those of reputation and those that have the desire to make your dream day as special as you want it to be.
