Spring has sprung! Remember those pictures you sent us - we will begin this year's contests introducing our 2012 brides. If you are a bride or have been a bride in 2011 and want to compete in this contest, just send in a fun picture and get your friends to voter for you. For this week - there will be no Best Picture award - just popular vote. Join us for eight weeks of fun!
The contest is all about pre wedding and wedding images which focus on our Blue Ridge Brides getting married in the beautiful northern Blue Ridge Shenandoah Valley. The contest is open to Blue Ridge Brides, Blue Ridge Grooms, photographers, wedding venues and other wedding professionals and friends – anyone can participate and vote.

This year we are making it much easier. You can post directly to our facebook page. The page will also let you know the points you have earned and how close you are to winning.
Images must be posted beginning Wednesday 12 AM of each week. The contest ends 7 days later at 12 AM. Each week we will tell you what you are winning. Weekly winners become finalists for the Grand Prize. A winner can only win once and become a finalist for that week.
Image submissions can come from brides, grooms, friends, photographers and other wedding professionals. They can be taken by professionals or amateurs. Please click on rules on our facebook page. We are simply looking for great pictures capturing the fun and beauty of a Blue Ridge Wedding.

Image #1 Most Popular – Winning Image voted on by the Fans
Winner is the person who submitted the picture. This can be a bride, friend, photographer, or wedding professional. This person will receive the weekly prizes from our sponsors and then qualifies as a finalist for the Grand Prize Giveaway Package.
Image #2 Most Professional – Winning Image voted on by the Blue Ridge Wedding Professional Panel.
Winner is the photographer who took the picture. This photographer will become a finalist for the Grand Prize drawing of a FREE booth at the George Washington Show or a FREE listing on this website being featured that month as Best Photographer of the Blue Ridge. If the image is not taken by a wedding professional, then the winner will receive another prize and qualify for the Grand Prize of a one night stay in the Blue Ridge.

2012 Weekly topics –
With two years of wedding day pictures, this year we are looking for more pictures prior to the wedding day as well as the day itself.
Week 1 - Introducing 2012 Blue Ridge Brides and our Just Married Brides and Grooms - Post your picture on facebook. This week is just to get everyone in the groove on how the contest is going to work this year.
Week 2 – Engagement Photographs – fun, unique, creative portraits that show brides and grooms personalities.
Week 3 – Most Romantic Couples Pictures - this can be prior to the wedding and the more informal the better. We are looking for photo journalistic photos. We would like to use these photos showing romantic spots in the Blue Ridge Shenandoah Valley.
Week 4 – The Wow Factor - Think out of the box for this one. Your reaction to the picture should be "WOW"!
Week 5 – Just the Guys – one of 2010 most popular week topics – We never forget the grooms at the Blue Ridge Bridal shows and are looking for any photograph with groom/groomsmen, formal or candid. Ideally having fun, being themselves, and showing the emotion of the day from a “groom’s perspective. “
Week 6 – The Unexpected – did something happen at the wedding or at a party which totally caught the bride and/or groom or the bridal party off guard. Again, these are candid images that catch a special moment. Storytelling - journalistic moments.
Week 7 – All in the Details – From bouquets, favors, center pieces, unique bridal party gifts, invitations, shoes and accessories, the personalized details that make this wedding all “yours”.
Week 8 – Best Kiss – Again one of the most popular in for two years – is it the first kiss of the day, the first look, or a kiss on the sly? This can be the Wedding day but does not have to be. Weddings are about love and romance. We are looking for those images that share that with the viewer.

Can I submit more than one photograph per category – No, this year due to the new facebook apps only one picture will be accepted.

What if I am not sure of the appropriate category it fits? If we find, you have submitted a photograph under the wrong category, we will notify you and have you move it to a different week.
